Active Shooter Workshop at DeStolfo’s Premier Martial Arts on August 23rd

DeStolfo’s Premier Martial Arts is holding an Active Shooter Workshop on Tuesday, August 23rd from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. An active shooter is an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and other populated area. Businesses, schools, and public places have procedures for an active shooter situation. This course will help individuals develop an active shooter plan for yourself and your family when in a public space like work, school, movie theater, shopping center, etc.

In this course, ares covered will included:

  • Discuss typical human responses: run, hide fight
  • Discuss cover versus concealment
  • Practice firearm weapons defenses
  • Practice barricade tactics
  • Practice active shooter takedowns and restraints
  • Discuss what to do when law enforcement arrives

The workshop will be led by Senior Black Belt Instructor Rinaldo Rossi. Rossi began his krav maga training in 2001 and his advanced training with David Kahn 2006. Rinaldo completed his instructor certification with Grandmaster Haim Gidon in both the United States and Israel. Rossi is one of only a few Americans to complete Grandmaster Gidon’s certification course in Israel. He also holds advanced level black belts both in judo and combat jujitsu by the United States Judo Association. Rossi has taught at the Marine Corps Martial Arts School of Excellence (MACE), the FBI Academy, (Quantico, VA) and New Jersey State Police Academy. He is co-owner of Israeli Krav Maga Cherry Hill.
