Conshohocken Resident and Business Owner Named Keynote Speaker at 1st Annual Philadelphia Regional Conference on Developmental Disabilities

Kerri Hanlon, one of the owners of Yoga Home in Conshohocken, has been named the keynote speaker at the 1st Annual Philadelphia Regional Conference on Developmental Disabilities. The conference is being held on Friday, May 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Roberts Center For Pediatric Research in Philadelphia.

The conference is a forum to discuss areas of mutual concern, foster partnerships and keep abreast of current programs. Open to individuals with disabilities, caregivers and professional, the conference features workshops on various therapies, technology and support services for individuals with disabilities to live more fully.

Keynote Address: Yoga and Mindfulness for All – 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

The benefits of yoga for body, mind and spirit are available to everyone. In this session, you’ll see why yoga has been proven to increase strength, balance and flexibility – both mental and physical – enhance capacity to live more fully within the body, help manage stress, and build a deepened sense of connection wit others. Join Kerri Hanlon, co-founder of Yoga Home and creator of its Adaptive Yoga Program, and her son, Sean, and experience the benefits of yoga and mindfulness practices.

Workshop: How to Adapt Yoga – 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

This workshop will expand of the themes presented in the keynote address and will delve further into the adaptation of yoga for individuals with disabilities.
