If you use Conshohocken Road to enter or leave Conshohocken your travel time is about to get a little longer. We learned today that starting Monday, April 25th, you will not be able to enter Conshohocken Road from Ridge Pike. This closure will last for three months. You will be able to enter Conshohocken Road from West Elm Street, but will not be able to go any further then the new intersection with Diamond Avenue. So if you are coming from Conshy, you won’t be able to reach Ridge.

Here is what the county’s website states:

Lafayette Street Project – Construction activities continue and will require the closing of Conshohocken Road beginning on Monday, April 25, 2016 so that the contractor can realign Diamond Avenue with Conshohocken Road. The closure will require a detour along Ridge Pike to Fayette Street in Conshohocken and will last about three months. This detour marks another milestone in the on-going, multi-phase, $100 million project that will eventually link Conshohocken Road directly to Lafayette Street and create a direct route into downtown Norristown; widen and improve Ridge Pike; rebuild and widen existing Lafayette Street in Norristown; and eventually create a turnpike interchange that will feed directly into Conshohocken Road and Lafayette Street.

So with this closure and the continued closure of Balligomingo Road, the early summer traffic should be great!
