Five Saints Distilling in Norristown is holding its grand opening on Saturday, July 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The distillery, which has been quietly open for a week or so, is located within the former Humane Fire Engine Co. #1 at 129 East Main Street.

The distillery promises premium, small batch, and hand-crafted spirits. The businesses is viewed as one of the initial stepping stones to generate revitalization of downtown Norristown. What we find interesting is that it is just over the bridge from the not-yet-opened Bridgeport location of Conshohocken Brewing. One or two more places in the Bridgeport/Norristown border area could create a new nightlife destination benefiting both towns.
