Meet Orthodontist Dr. Adam Weiss (Sponsored Content)

Dr. Adam Weiss, a leader in orthodontic care in the area, will be contributing a series of blog posts over the year. Below is his first post, which offers details about him, his work in the community and what his practice offers:

This year, I am celebrating 25 years in the practice of Orthodontics in King of Prussia and Collegeville, where we serve patients from the Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting and Lafayette Hill areas.

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month. In celebration of Dental Health Month,  I am lecturing to the 4th and 5th grades at 15 area schools to review the importance of proper oral hygiene and the hazards of tobacco use. Recently, I spoke to the 5th graders at Upper Merion Middle School, where we discussed the importance of oral hygiene and how it goes beyond healthy teeth and is correlated to overall systemic health.

As an Orthodontist, I deal with correcting malocclusions to improve overall function, esthetics and ease of proper care. Orthodontics today offers many options to correct a malocclusion beyond the typical metal braces. Clear, ceramic braces makes for a less noticeable look with braces.  Clear aligners with the Invisalign system is a nonbraces alternative to improving a malocclusion. We are Elite level providers of the Invisalgn system. We also have SureSmile and Acceledent technologies which can shorten treatment time in either braces or Invisalign.

Our complimentary office visit can review all of these options and match which works best for the individual patient.  Future blogs will delve further into the details of these new technologies in Orthodontics.
