Pasta Via Celebrates it 20th Anniversary

Pasta Via has been celebrating its 20th anniversary during August.  We stopped by this week to discuss their 20 years of doing business along Fayette Street.  We learned a bunch of history and wanted to share it with you:

  • Betty Stanley, the owner, worked originally in her family’s dress and bridal business in Havertown
  • Pasta Via was originally located at 517 Fayette Street, which is now Sevan the Salon.  It moved after five years to 824 Fayette Street
  • The original location was the family home of Betty’s mother, Elizabeth Cianci
  • Pasta Via was originally was focused on being a market and caterer, similar to Carlino’s
  • The original location had the first open kitchen in Conshohocken
  • If you have ever walked by Sevan the Salon and noticed the patio along the side of the building, that was Pasta Via’s outdoor dining patio
  • Once Pasta Via moved, it expanded its dine-in/take-out/delivery menu, but continues to have a booming corporate and social catering business
  • They have a herb and vegetable garden behind the restaurant (Betty is pictured in the garden above)
  • On a weekly basis Pasta Via employs about a dozen people, including Betty and her husband Jeff
  • Pasta Via is known for its Penne Pasta Via and Chicken TriColor
  • They offer gluten free pizza

You can also learn more about Pasta Via by reading the article the Times Herald just wrote about them.
