There is a proposal to build 163 townhomes on the “Sheacklett Property” on Cedar Grove Road in Whitemarsh. We are not sure exactly where on Cedar Grove Road, but the address for the “Shacklett Realty LP Property” is the same as National Label on Joshua Road. We do not believe it to be the location of its headquarters, but some adjacent land the company purchased in 1999.
We have found two references to this proposal online. The first is a mention as a likely item on an agenda for the September 23rd meeting of Whitemarsh’s Planning Commission. That reference reads as follows:
SLD #06-04 ‘The Oaks at Lafayette Hill’ (Shacklett Property); Cedar Grove Road; Preliminary Plan for 163 Townhouse units and Zoning Text Amendment to increase density from 3.2 to 3.3 dwelling units per acre for attached dwellings in LIM District

Soil at the site has been impacted with the release of antimony, arsenic, cadmium, copper, lead, target organics pesticides and pahs. The intended future use of the property is residential.
