Ben “Bigg Breakfast” Mosakowski

BiggBreakfast-Retro

I was born and raised in Conshohocken.

My folks  were married by the mayor of Conshohocken and still live on Springmill Avenue in the old house I grew up in. I have been to Florida and back but there is no place like home!

What do you do (career wise)?

I came back to Conshy from Daytona Beach last year because my friends John and Jerry started their own contracting business in the area. I grew up with the Lester Brothers. So working for Lester Brothers contracting has been a lot of fun for me.  During  these winter months I have been lucky enough to stay at home with my four month old daughter Zoey and focus on music and writing.

How did you come up with the Conshy Song?

Back in the day a few of us Conshy kids had a band by the name of Cousin Leroy. We played little local places like the now deceased Toad’s Tavern. Me  and my boy Keith were always tryin to think of  new stuff that people around here would like. We started reminiscing about Conshy and it went from there. The original lyrics to that rhythm were, “No Roger-No Rerun-No Rent!” from an old episode of Whats Happenin! Conshy has changed so much lately.  That song was from a simpler time.

You seem to have a lot of nicknames, what is up with that?

I have been through  more than my share of nicknames. I think as  I have changed in my personal life these changes were reflected in the nicknames that I played under over the years. The recent embodiment of my music is best summed up in two words-Bigg Breakfast! Today my life and music are all about  fun, peace, funk, and love.  I don’t take myself quiet so seriously these days.

What do you love most about Conshohocken?

I love the vibe I feel every time I am in Conshy. I always feel at home. I was a Golden Bear.

I was there when they blew up the old bridge- and I was there when they unveiled the new one and let us all walk on it before it was open to the public. I love Conshy because no matter how much it changes it will always be home.

What are your favorite places in Conshohocken?

Im a sucker for the local dive bars. Don’t get me wrong I will shell out 5 dollars a beer to hang on the  collar circuit from time to time but I grew up in The Casmar and places like Bobby’s Burgers (Formerly Shooters Corner). I like to smoke when I drink and the more unsavory the characters  are on the stools beside me the better!
