We received this message yesterday regarding the Colonial Neighborhood Council’s need for donations:
I was at the CNC the other day and Sandy, the lovely and gracious woman who runs the place, told me they were low on food donations. She said, “Hunger doesn’t take a vacation.” I thought that was an excellent point. She explained that during the summer months when the kids don’t get free breakfast or lunch at school it can be hard on the families. I was wondering if you would just mention that anyone who sees a great sale at the super market if they had it in their budget to buy an extra jar of peanut butter, jelly, spaghetti sauce, pasta, canned veggies or fruit, canned soups and stews or meats, or cereals, it would be great to give back to this wonderful hometown in which we live!
