Conshohocken man charged with Attempted Murder in the First Degree

The Conshohocken Police Department has issued two press releases involving incidents last week at the same residence along the 200 block of Spring Mill Avenue in the borough. The incidents involved two separate stabbings and a gun being fired. Police state that the incidents were unrelated, targeted attacks against specific victims, and that there is no danger to the public.

The first incident took place on Tuesday, November 4th, just after 5:30 p.m., when officers were called to the scene after a report of a stabbing. This is the incident that MoreThanTheCurve.com previously reported on.

In the press release, police shared that two individuals were taken into custody and charged with simple assault and related offenses. A handgun was also recovered during the investigation. One victim was treated for non-life-threatening injurires at a local hospital.

The second incident occurred on Thursday, November 6th, at approximately 12:51 a.m. Police report that they were called to the 200 block of Spring Mill Avenue for a report of a disturbance and possible stabbing. Once on the scene, police were told that a gun had been fired inside the home and that one person had been stabbed. Police were able to secure a handgun discovered near the scene.

The preliminary investigation found that a man had entered the home, fired the weapon, and stabbed two individuals. An adult male was taken to a local hospital for a stab wound. A second person had a minor injury and was evaluated on the scene by EMS.

The suspect in the second incident, 41-year-old Michael J. Collins of Conshohocken, was apprehended by police and charged with multiple crimes, including Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Aggravated Assault, and Burglary. Collins’ bail was set at $1 million, and he is currently held at the Montgomery County Prison as he was unable to make bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 19th at 10:30 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Dara Nasatir.
