Conshohocken native connected to horse likely to run for the roses in the Kentucky Derby

The Kentucky Derby is right around the corner on May 6th and one of the horses likely to race has a connection to a Conshohocken native and Plymouth Whitemarsh High School graduate.

After high school, Adrianna Lynch headed to the University of Louisville where she earned a degree in Equine Business in 2022. She is now pursuing a career working with thoroughbreds and is currently working at Upson Downs, a breeding farm owned by R. Alex Rankin, who serves as the chairman of Churchill Downs.

On the farm, Lynch is being trained on breeding prep, foal watch, the daily care of mares and their babies, and preparing the horses for sale.

One horse that Lynch cared for named “Follow” was sold in September of 2022 and is now preparing to race in the Kentucky Derby under the name Instant Coffee. According to HorseRacingNation.com, Instant Coffee has won three of the four races it has raced in thus far.

KentuckyDerby.com recently had a profile on Instant Coffee, that includes Lynch’s involvement. You can read the article here.
