How did you come to live and/or work in Conshohocken?
Back in about 1999 I was living in Havertown in a fraternity type of setting with 4 guys in a house. One of the guys in the house and myself decided to look for an apartment closer to the 30something crowd and that’s how we came to end up in Conshy. I ended up buying a house here about 4 years later.
What do you do (career wise)?
I own two businesses, New America Power and Gateskip.com. In late 2009 I started New America Power. New America Power is a commercial energy brokerage. We work with mostly commercial clients to help them understand deregulation and to also secure an alternative supplier to the utility. My brother is my partner and having him on board has helped me to gain some free time for my other venture, Gateskip. Gateskip.com is an online business referral network. Its much like BNI or LeTip but everything is done online. I came up with this idea as I was looking for a referral networking group to join after I started New America Power and wasn’t happy with the current types of networking groups who had limited or inconvenient hours, long commutes and hefty fees. We are in our pre-launch phase right now and hoping to launch before the summer ends.

What are you involved in outside of work?
Mainly my son. I have a one year old awesome little boy who I love to bring everywhere with me. We make regular appearances at Guppys and 401 Diner for breakfast. You cant miss him. He is the little guy blowing kisses to everyone.
What do you love most about Conshohocken?
I like that it’s a small community next to a big city. I also love the fact that there is a thriving small business community, especially in the technology world. It makes me feel like im in a mini silicone valley when you take inventory of all the internet startups in Conshohocken.
What are your favorite places in Conshohocken?
In no particular order:
Guppys is the best neighborhood bar. Spamps is like getting a taste of the city without having to go to the city. 401 Diner on Sundays for lunch is great. I just discovered Conshohocken Café. Best Chili and Tuna Sandwich I have ever had. And I do all my lunch meetings at the Great America Pub. I can’t forget to mention El Limon, Coyote Crossing and Pepperoncini. This has to be the best restaurant town in America.
