Covanta facility in Conshohocken to go through permit renewal process in 2022

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is set this evening to hold a virtual public hearing regarding a Title V/State Operating Permit renewal request for Covanta Delaware Valley, LP, a waste to energy facility in the City of Chester.

The Covanta facility in Chester is similar but larger than the facility located in Conshohocken (Plymouth Township) which has suffered a series of malfunctions in recent years and paid a $218,393 civil penalty to the department in connection to 2019 and 2020 violations.

When MoreThanTheCurve.com received the notice for the Chester facility, we inquired as to when the permit for the Conshohocken facility expires. That date is November 12, 2022.
