Demolition of the former Lincoln Fire Company has started

In 2016 Whitemarsh Township moved to stop providing funding to the Lincoln Fire Company which effectively closed it. Since then the property (252 Roberts Avenue) has been purchased by a developer Conshohocken Construction.

The developer first proposed building townhouses, but that was rejected. A plan to build two single-family homes was approved in February of 2019. The demolition of the property started this week.

Within the next seven days, we are going to have a couple of articles on the history of the fire company.
