How long have you lived and/or worked in Conshohocken?

I was born in Montella, Italy and came to the United States in search of work. Immigrating to Norristown, I was a former baker at Borzillo’s Bakery. I decided to go into business with a co-worker and we formed Conshohocken Italian Bakery in March of 1973. Conshy has been part of my family’s life for the past 37 years!

What do you do?

I am a baker and owner of Conshohocken Italian Bakery. We produce bread, rolls and tomato pie for wholesale and retail customers.
Locally, our products are delivered to the various establishments in Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Berks Counties, but our products have traveled as far as Alaska!

What are you in involved in outside of work?

Outside of work, I volunteer my time to the Central Montco Technical School, where I teach culinary students how to make homemade pasta and, of course, how to bake bread. In addition, I am actively involved with the Holy Saviour Italian Club in Norristown and I am a member of the Sons of Italy. I also try to donate my time and resources to Conshohocken related events.

What do you love most about Conshohocken?

I love the people and the hometown feeling of almost living in the Borough. I enjoy when our neighbors stop in to say hello. It’s nice to walk around the block and have friendly conversations with my friends and the residents of the community. Everyone has always made me feel like I’ve lived here my whole life.

What are your favorite places in Conshohocken?

I love so many places in Conshy. I am seen frequenting several local establishments including Flocco’s and Edwards Freeman’s, occasionally with grandchildren in tow. I enjoy Conshy’s special events including the fireworks at Sutcliffe park, the annual Soap Box Derby and Fun Fest. Of course, you can also find me off of 7th Avenue, at my friend Tony Bello’s house. Conshohocken is wonderful and we are proud the town is part of our name!
