Event – Relay for Life in Conshy on Saturday, May 19th

The 2nd Annual Relay for Life-Conshohocken will take place May 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Sutcliffe Park. The Relay for Life focuses on remembering those who have passed, celebrating the survivors, and fighting back against the future of cancer. Since its creation in 1985, the national event has raised over $4 billion aiding cancer research with over $431 million in grants currently in cancer research, as well as fund patient services free of charge, and provide educational programs.

Last year, the Conshohocken community hosted its first ever Relay for Life event, and just about 300 Conshohocken residents came out to support this cause. The event was extremely successful raising $51,000, which was more than double the event’s goal. This earned the Conshohocken event the “Rookie of The Year Award” in the East Central Division of the American Cancer Society. This year, Conshohocken’s goal is to raise $60,000, register 36 teams and celebrate 36 survivors during the Survivor Ceremony. With the Conshohocken community’s help, the Executive Planning Committee is optimistic that all goals will be shattered in 2012.
