  1. Harmonville Fire Company to Take Santa through Local Neighborhoods

Community, Hosted By Harmonville Fire Company

  2. Took place on Sunday, December 20th, 2020 @ 11:00am
  3. Santa Claus is coming to town – but he’ll be riding in on a fire truck instead of a sleigh.

Harmonville Fire Company is taking Santa through their first due response area on Sunday, Dec. 20, beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing throughout the afternoon.

Procedures for the drive-through event are a little different than usual. Santa normally gets off the truck and passes out candy canes to children. To keep everyone safe and socially distanced, however, he will remain on the vehicle as he rolls through the streets this year.

“Everyone looks forward to seeing Santa, but we need to make sure everyone stays healthy,” says Chief John Hoffman. “This makes sure that our holiday tradition can go on while also taking COVID precautions into account.”

Residents wondering when Santa will be on their block should listen for the sound of fire sirens, Hoffman says. They aim to hit every road in their district.

“Come out and give us a wave,” encourages the chief.

Harmonville Fire Company is also asking the public for donations of non-perishable canned food and store-quality toys. Contact-free drop boxes are located outside the Plymouth Valley station on Germantown Pike. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 20.

Another way to give back to the community this holiday season is through volunteering with the fire company. Harmonville provides free training and equipment for people who want to take on firefighting and other roles within the organization. For more information, visit www.JoinHarmonvilleFire.org.
