What was previously DiMeo’s Pizza Kitchen is now open as La Cucina Italian Eatery. We formally reported that it was one of the original owners reopening under a new name, but it is actually under new ownership. While it is someone new, the new owner had worked at DiMeo’s for a few months in preparation for potentially buying the restaurant. The abrupt closure by the previous owners hastened his taking over.

The new owner, Sal Rizzo (pictured left above), is a native of Sicily, and had worked in the pizza business prior to his work at DiMeo’s. He is initially keeping DiMeo’s menu, but will eventually add his own dishes. He also kept some of the same staff from DiMeo’s. Below are a few photos from the restaurant’s Facebook page:
