Lifeguard shortage impacting Greater Plymouth Community Center pools

A national lifeguard shortage has forced the Greater Plymouth Community Center in Plymouth Meeting to consider reducing hours or closing the lap pool. The hours of the leisure pool have already been scaled back. The community center currently has only 20% of the lifeguards needed to operate the pools.

According to an email from the community center, pool closures and mitigation restrictions have resulted in fewer training courses for lifeguards. Due to this, the community center is seeking the public’s help in finding more certified lifeguards.

If you are, or if you know a certified lifeguard, contact the Aquatics Department at (610) 313-4060 or by email Aquatic@Plymouthtownship.org.
