MoreThanTheCurve.com Filed a Right-to-Know in Regards to Washington Fire Company Situation

This morning MoreThanTheCurve.com submitted a right-to-know request to the Borough of Conshohocken. The items we seek hopefully will confirm or refute things we have learned through official channels (such as the statements released by the Borough, the Facebook comment made by Borough Council member Jane Flanagan, and unofficial channels).

The items/information we seek are as follows:

  • Minutes of meetings held since 01/01/2017 between the Borough of Conshohocken, Washington Fire Company No. 1 and Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2.
  • Minutes of meetings held since 01/01/2017 between the Borough of Conshohocken and the Washington Fire Company No. 1.
  • Minutes of meetings held since 01/01/2017 between the Borough of Conshohocken and Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2.
    • If minutes were not kept for meetings, provide dates meetings were held, a list of who attended and any follow-up correspondence outlining what was discussed.
  • Contracts for 2017, 2018 and 2019 between the Borough of Conshohocken and the Washington Fire Company No. 1.
  • Contracts for 2017, 2018 and 2019 between the Borough of Conshohocken and the Conshohocken Fire Co. No. 2.
  • Audits provided to the Borough by Washington Fire Company No. 1 for 2017, 2018 and 2019
  • Audits provided to the Borough by Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2 for 2017, 2018 and 2019
  • Any correspondence sent to 36 West Elm Street, Conshohocken, PA 19428 in 2017, 2018 and 2019
  • Any emails on the Borough’s server dated 01/01/2017 or later, to or from EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED or another email address associated with Andrew Carlin.
  • Any emails on Borough staff or elected officials personal email or email used for official use dated 01/01/2017 or later, to or from EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED or another email address associated with Andrew Carlin.

For example, the first three bullets should confirm (or not confirm) Flanagan’s claim that the Borough’s action to remove the fire trucks from the Washington Fire Company should not have been a surprise to the firehouse. Records from meetings would easily confirm that.

We seek the contracts to see what is exactly mandated, at least by the Borough, in regards to audits.

We seek emails and correspondence to bolster what was being discussed outside of any meetings with the fire company. Did the Borough send warnings? Was the Borough encouraging the fire company to sell the property (a rampant rumor)? Obtaining the correspondence should clear that up. Please note we purposely removed the email address involved for this article.

The Borough has acknowledged receiving our request. We will keep you posted on the response we receive.
