New Principal at Ridge Park Elementary

The Colonial School District sent out a press release today announcing that Jared Gamble has been recommended to be the new Principal of Ridge Park Elementary School replacing Dr. Michael McKenna who served in that capacity since 2011. Most recently, Mr. Gamble served as Assistant Principal at Colonial Elementary School.

“Jared Gamble has made significant contributions to the Colonial School District first as an outstanding third-grade teacher and as a valuable administrator during his three years as Assistant Principal at Colonial Elementary School,” said Superintendent Dr. MaryEllen Gorodetzer. “I am confident that Ridge Park Elementary School will continue to be ranked among the top elementary schools in the state under Mr. Gamble’s leadership.”

Mr. Gamble joined the Colonial School District in 2004 as a teacher at Whitemarsh Elementary School. He served as a teacher mentor, a member of the District-wide Supervision and Evaluation Committee, held a number of leadership positions at Whitemarsh Elementary and previously directed the Ridge Park Elementary School Summer Reading Program. In 2010, he was the District’s winner of the Voices of Inspiration Award for Teaching Excellence.

“I look forward to embracing this exciting new challenge and connecting with the staff, students and parents of Ridge Park,” Mr. Gamble said. “I know that together we will continue the strong community bond and high quality of education that makes Ridge Park Elementary School special.”

Gamble holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from Millersville University and a M.S. in Reading from Gwynedd Mercy College. He earned his Principal and Administrative I Certifications from Cabrini College.

Mr. Gamble’s appointment will become official after School Board action at the August 20 public business meeting.
