In November of 2021, MoreThanTheCurve.com reported that Banfield Pet Hospital had been added to the roster of tenants at the Whitemarsh Shopping Center in Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township).
What we didn’t know at the time was that the business would need a special exception from Whitemarsh Township’s Zoning Hearing Board to open at that location. From the notice:

The applicant is proposing a branch of Banfield Pet Hospital in the Whitemarsh Shopping Center. Based upon the definitions in Section 116-11., this is considered a ‘clinic’. A clinic is a
use permitted by special exception in the IN-Institutional District. The applicant is requesting a Special Exception under Section 116-104.A.(6)(b) which permits any use allowed in the Institutional District by special exception in the CR-H District, in which the Shopping Center is located.
