Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Joe Rauscher has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Immaculata University. The starting pitcher for the Colonials helped lead the team to a Suburban One League Liberty Division Title after not being able to compete in 2020 due to the pandemic.

“Joe had to jump from pitching just four varsity innings in 2019 to being our number one starter this year. Beginning a season as a team’s number one can be difficult for any pitcher, but most usually have the chance over a few seasons to ease into that role,” said Coach Chris Manero. “Like so many spring athletes who missed an entire season in 2020, Joe persevered and put himself in a position to have a ton of success this year.”

One of three players who came into the 2021 season with varsity experience, Joe went 6-0 with a .90 ERA. He counts pitching a no-hitter as a highlight of his time as a Colonial.

“My career at PWHS helped me out as a player and a person and taught me stuff I have never learned before,” said Joe. “At Immaculata, I’m looking forward to continuing to grow and meeting new life-long friends.”

Joe started playing baseball at the age of five and plays for Zoom Baseball Academy and the Colonial Baseball Association.
