Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Mark Lukens to Swim at Widener University

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School senior Mark Lukens plans to swim at Widener University next season. A Distinguished Honor Roll student, he plans to major in physical therapy in college.

After swimming as a youth, Lukens gave up the sport for nearly 10 years. He decided to swim again competitively as a high school senior.

Lukens improved his times in every race this past season for the Colonials. He finished 11th in the 50-yard freestyle and 13th in the 100-yard freestyle at the Suburban One League American Conference championship. He was also a part of the school’s 200-yard freestyle relay team that placed third at the conference championship, fifth at the District 1 championship and qualified for the PIAA championship.

Lukens was named the Colonials Most Improved Swimmer at the team’s year-end banquet.
