Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Patrick Flynn to row at Lehigh University

Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s Patrick Flynn will trade the Schuylkill for the Lehigh River when he rows for Lehigh University next year. He plans to study business at Lehigh.

Flynn began rowing with the Conshohocken Rowing Center in eighth grade, and also played varsity basketball for Plymouth Whitemarsh. He was a team captain this year, and in his junior and senior years with the team, the boys won the Suburban One League Title and made District playoffs.

Flynn shared that he enjoys rowing because it is challenging and a sport that requires teamwork, leadership, and communication. When he gets to Lehigh, he is hoping to further develop these skills.

“(I am looking forward to) bonding with the new team, getting on the water each day, and competing at a high level,” he said.

Along with basketball and rowing, he has been a member of the Ronald McDonald Club, the International Baccalaureate Programme, and the National Honor Society.
