Three days after opening its Virtual Enrichment program at the Community Center at the Fellowship House, Conshohocken had to shutter the program for two weeks due to a staff member testing positive for Coronavirus.

The program was instituted to provide families a place for school-aged children to go during the day for virtual schooling from the school district. The child’s school provided virtual instruction, while the community center provided monitoring and care.

From the September 4th email notifying parents:

We were notified that our staff member received a positive test result for COVID-19. We are implementing our health and safety protocols. The program will be postponed for the next 14 days as recommended by CDC guidelines.

You should continue to monitor your child for any symptoms. The CDC website serves as a great resource to help you find up to date and reliable information regarding COVID-19. We suggest that you contact your family physician and/or pediatrician to inform them and ask any questions you may have.

Refunds will be issued for the days/weeks that will be missed. Please allow some time to process.

The safety and security of our families have been our main concern and will continue to remain a top priority. We will monitor the situation and update you.

The program reopened today and a second email to families stated that the Borough of Conshohocken had not been notified of any additional cases.

Today, the Borough announced that the Community Center at the Fellowship would be reopening starting September 21st with reduced hours for regular programming for the first time since the start of the pandemic. It hasn’t updated its’ website with this information (as of 9/17 at 11:00 a.m.), but you will be able to find the information here.
