Pre-construction work to continue through August 11th along Ridge Pike in Whitemarsh and Springfield townships

Montgomery County has announced that pre-construction activities will continue on Ridge Pike between Crescent Avenue and Northwestern Avenue during the week of Monday, August 8th. Single lane closures with flagging will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from August 8-11 in various locations throughout the corridor for tree clearing and utility relocation.

This work is being done in preparation for construction on Section D of the Ridge Pike Improvement Project from Crescent Avenue to the Philadelphia border. Located in Whitemarsh and Springfield townships, this project includes a full-depth roadway reconstruction that aims to improve safety and reduce congestion. The project will add traffic signals at Crescent and Barren Hill roads, add an eastbound through lane between Harts Lane and Northwestern Avenue, and add stormwater management facilities.

The project will provide for a continuous sidewalk along the southwestern side of the roadway and consolidate SEPTA bus stops and make them ADA compliant.
