Presentation on vacant office building adjacent to Plymouth Meeting Mall scheduled for May 2nd

On the agenda of the May 2nd meeting of Plymouth Township’s Council is a presentation regarding the vacant office building adjacent to the Plymouth Meeting Mall at 502 West Germantown Pike in Plymouth Meeting. Keystone Development & Investment (formerly the Keystone Property Group) owns the building.

In June 2021, Keystone made a presentation before the council about the same building that would have involved converting the building into 150 apartments. During that same time, PREIT, the owner of the mall, was in the middle of a series of zoning hearings involving constructing a 503-unit apartment community on the mall’s property. PREIT’s application to receive zoning relief to permit its apartment community was denied in September of 2021 and it is currently appealing that decision.

Over the last five years, there have been plans to modernize the building to continue serving as an office building and a proposal to convert it into a long-term care facility. Those plans were not pursued.

Please note that the nature of Keystone’s presentation about the building is not known. It might be revisiting the apartments, but it could be a proposal for something else.

The meeting is scheduled for May 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Greater Plymouth Community Center.
