Former Conshohocken Fire Chief Robert Phipps was in the news recently. A few weeks ago he was driving through West Conshohocken on the way to work when he noticed a house on fire. He stopped, ran into the burning house and dragged out a guy that was trying to put the fire out with a garden hose. You can read the full story here.
How did you come to live and/or work in Conshohocken?
I was born in Conshohocken and have lived here my entire life.
What do you do (career wise)?
I am a Construction Foreman for Del Buono Construction in Conshohocken.
What are you involved in outside of work?
I have been an active member of the Conshohocken Fire Company #2 for 38 years. I have been with the Soap Box Derby and Special Olympics for many years. I enjoy going to Eagles and Phillies games. I get a lot of satisfaction helping older people. My wife and I like to travel as well.
What do you love most about Conshohocken?
I enjoy socializing with people of all ages and Conshohocken has a great sense of community. There is always something happening in Conshohocken.
What are your favorite places in Conshohocken?
I love stopping at the Conshohocken Italian Bakery for fresh bread and to talk with Dominic. Of course I enjoy the time I spend at the firehouse. I like playing bocce at the CBC and hanging at the Boathouse when the Eagles are playing away games. I love the The Great American Pub, Totaro’s for Happy Hour and of course the Casmar Café.
