Significant portion of Chemical Road to close at 3:00 p.m. today (March 26th) for emergency repairs

The portion of Chemical Road between Germantown Pike and Gallagher Road in Plymouth Meeting will close on Friday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m. for emergency repairs. From the Plymouth Township Police Department:

Emergency repairs will begin at 3:00 pm this afternoon (March 26, 2021) on Chemical Road, in the area of the 476 North off ramp. Chemical Road will be entirely closed to thru traffic at that point. As a result, motor vehicle traffic will not be able to fully travel on Chemical Road, between Germantown Pike and Ridge Pike.

Coming off of Ridge Pike, motorists will be able to access business up to the traffic light at Gallagher Road. This includes the Metroplex, Ruby Tuesday and the Hampton Inn. You will not be able to travel any further North of this point.

Motorists will not be able to access Chemical Road from Germantown Pike.

As MoreThanTheCurve.com has reported, PennDOT had repaired a sinkhole in this area at the beginning of the month, and the impacted lanes and ramp had reopened. The heavy rains earlier this week resulted in PennDOT returning to the scene and reclosing the lanes and the ramp.

No timeframe was provided as to how long the repairs will take.

More to come.
