Updated – Statement from the Borough on Sandy

At 7:03 a.m. the Borough of Conshohocken posted the following statement on Facebook:

The Borough Offices will be closed today. Only emergency personnel will be reporting. This includes Public Works. We realize that trash has been put out and the Public Works crews will do their best to collect trash today. However, we anticipate that much of Public Works time will be dedicated to keeping inlets and streams clear of debris as well as any other emergency issues that come up. If possible, please help by bringing your trash in. This may be a hazard if it is not collected before the high winds arrive. Trash will not be collected on Tuesday or Wednesday. Trash collection will resume per the normal schedule on Thursday. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to help keep the Borough clean and safe.

At 9:15 a.m. the Borough posted this:

UPDATE
We are asking the public to assist our Public Works department. If you are reading this and can bring your trash in, please do so. Public Works crews are on the road collecting trash as a matter of safety to keep debris from being scattered and potentially causing hazardous conditions. We do not know when those crews will be pulled for other emergency matters or for their own safety. We apologize for any confusion that this or other messages may cause. However, any help you can provide to keep the Borough and our crews safe is greatly appreciated. The will be NO trash collection on Tuesday or Wednesday. Normal trash collection will resume on Thursday.
