The Couch Tomato to open at the Outbound Station in Conshohocken

The Couch Tomato has signed a lease for the Outbound Station at 2 Harry Street in Conshohocken. Look for the restaurant to open in the fall/winter of 2021.

The restaurant currently has two locations, the original in Manayunk that was opened in 2003 after partners Craig Mosmen and Mike Cassano lost their jobs after September 11th. The Manayunk location has a cafe downstairs and a bistro upstairs. The West Chester location opened seven years and is a cafe. The Conshohocken location will also be a cafe.

The cafe menu offers a variety of pizzas, salads, sandwiches, soups, and more. Mosmen told MoreThanTheCurve.com that almost all of the items on the menu are customizable and they use as many organic products as possible. They have offer gluten-free crusts and are happy to work with customers’ dietary restrictions.

The pizzas are thin crust, hand-tossed, and New York style. They are still deciding between a brick and stone oven. One interesting thing to note is that the most popular items on the menu are salads.

Mosemen shared that they had targeted Conshohocken as a potential location as far back as seven years ago, but decided on West Chester when they found what they considered the perfect location. They begin looking in Conshohocken at the end of 2020 and fell in love with the Outbound Station.

More to come when they get closer to opening.
