We have heard for some time that the two fire companies in Conshohocken, Washington Fire Company No. 1 and Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2, would eventually merge.  However, we never heard it discussed publicly until last night at the Borough Council meeting.

The mention of the potential merger happened after Fire Chief Leo Costello gave details on the purchase of a new fire truck.  A member of Borough Council asked him to provide some details on the discussion between the fire companies to merge.  All that was said was that the discussion was happening.  We also heard previously that when the interviews took place to select a new Fire Chief, both candidates were asked their thoughts on a merger.
