The Whitemarsh Township Police Department has announced that the pedestrian struck last night (Friday, February 17) by a vehicle near the intersection of Butler Pike and Cedar Grove Road in Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township) died at the hospital. Police shared that the victim is a male who lives locally, but that his name will not be released until his family has been notified.

In MoreThanTheCurve.com’s earlier article, we linked a report from NBC10 that referred to the incident as a hit-and-run. The statement from the police does not describe the incident that way and mentions that the driver was at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

This is the second fatal accident along Fayette Street/Butler Pike between the Matsonford Bridge and Ridge Pike in the past three months. On December 21st, a Conshohocken man was killed in a two-vehicle crash along the 700 block of Fayette Street. A Philadelphia man is set to go to trial on charges involving speeding and reckless driving in this case.
