This Saturday – Public Encouraged to Attend “A Schuylkill River, Trail & Downtown Connectivity Study”

You are invited to participate in A Schuylkill River, Trail & Downtown Connectivity Study that will take place in Conshohocken on Saturday, August 24th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Over the next 23 months the study will be looking at things like signage, trash, safety, lighting, parking, etc; and on a larger scale, it will look at how to encourage stewardship of the trail and the river, extend recreational use with different activities and multiple seasons; recruit new businesses into towns to serve this audience, how to help existing businesses expand.

This project is underwritten by a grant from the William Penn Foundation to encourage increased use of the Schuylkill River and the Schuylkill River Trail. The study focuses on four areas, Manayunk, Conshohocken, Norristown and Phoenixville.

The public is encouraged to attend. The schedule for Saturday is as follows:

8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. – Orientation at Old Borough Hall at 8th and Fayette
9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. – Walking tour and assessment of town, river and trail
10:00 to 10:30 a.m. – Next steps (at Old Borough Hall)
