Transfer of liquor license for Goat’s Beard location in Conshohocken on April 13th agenda in Whitemarsh Township

A hearing involving the transfer of a liquor license from Horsham Township to Whitemarsh Township to be utilized by Goat’s Beard is scheduled for Thursday, April 13th. The Goat’s Beard is planning to open at the intersection of East Hector and Lee Streets within the Spring Mill Campus in Conshohocken (Whitemarsh Township).

Pennsylvania law requires that a hearing be held by the municipality regarding this type of liquor license transfer when the number of licenses in a municipality is more than one license per 3,000 residents.

Plymouth Township currently has 10 restaurant and distributor licenses. The U.S. Census reports that Whitemarsh Township has a population of just under 20,000 as of 2021.

If Whitemarsh Township’s board of supervisors approves the transfer, it will then go through an approval process with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.

Whitemarsh Township already approved an outdoor seating area for the restaurant. This seating area is depictured in the image at the top of the article.

This will be the third location for Goat’s Beard. It already has restaurants in Wayne and the Manayunk section of Philadelphia.
