From 6ABC Action News:

UPDATE – statement from Aqua:

At 30-inch water main broke sometime before 6 a.m. on Balligomingo Road between Route 476 and Front Street in Conshohocken.

Crews responded to the break and are in the midst of shutting down the main. Shutting down large valves (two 30-inch valves and one 16-inch valve) requires more time than it takes to operate valves on smaller distribution mains.

Once the shutdown is completed, Aqua expects its customers in the Lower Merion and Radnor areas to have normal water pressure within one-to-two hours.

It could take a few more hours for affected customers on the east side of the Schuylkill River in areas like Cheltenham, Wyndmoor and Glenside to return to normal water pressure.

Because of a change in water flow that occurred after the break, it is possible that customers will experience discolored water as a result of iron buildup in the main.
