Conshohocken’s Borough Council to Vote to Advertise Medical Marijuana Ordinance

Conshohocken’s Borough Council meets on Wednesday, March 15th at 7:00 p.m. and on the agenda is whether to authorize an advertisement for an ordinance that will medical marijuana growing operations and dispensaries in the Borough. During the meeting earlier in the month the discussion was that the growing operations would be allowed in the Limited Industrial District, which exists along train tracks and Schuylkill River Trail, and dispensaries would be permitted in the Commercial District, which runs up Fayette Street until 8th Avenue. Please note that this is what was discussed during the meeting, it could have changed since then. In addition to any Borough rules, a medical marijuana business would also need to abide by state restrictions on where it could operate.

There didn’t seem to be any dissent from approving the ordinance. So tonight a member of Borough Council can make a motion to advertise the ordinance and then at a future meeting they can vote to approve the new ordinance.
