Last week the Cleveland Browns named Mike Pettine, Jr. as the team’s new head coach.  Pettine has Conshy roots as it is the hometown of his father, Mike Pettine, Sr., who was the head football coach for over 30 years at Central Bucks West High School. Mike Sr., retired as a head coach after the 1999 season as the winningest coach in the history of Pennsylvania high school football with a career record of 326-32-4. Mike Sr., played football for Conshohocken High School and Villanova.

Mike Jr., played high school football for Central Bucks West under his father and went on to play on the college level at the University of Virginia.  After college he coached with his father at Central Bucks West and then coached the defensive backs at the University of Pittsburgh.  From there, he was the head coach at two high schools, William Tennent High School and North Penn High School.

He then took a coaching position with the Baltimore Ravens where he eventually became the outside linebackers coach. In 2009 he was named the defensive coordinator of the New York Jets and last season held the same position with the Buffalo Bills.
