Yesterday the Philadelphia Eagles signed Torrey Smith to a three year contract and there is a local connection. Smith’s wife, Chanel Smith (formally Williams), is a Conshohocken native and graduate of Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

While at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School she was a star athlete on the Track & Field team. She was a high school All-American in the hurdles and the 2005 Pennsylvania state high school champion in the 100-meter hurdles. She went on to compete at the college level for the University of Maryland.

Maybe she will come home to Conshohocken.
