Zoning Relief Sought for Daycare Center at East 8th and Wells in Conshohocken

Crystal Copeland of Philadelphia is seeking zoning relief to allow a daycare center at 244 East 8th Avenue in Conshohocken (corner of 8th and Wells). This property is the former home of Conshy Consignment and Baldwin Flowers.

The zoning hearing will be held on Monday, April 4th at 7:00 p.m. at Conshohocken’s Borough Hall. Below is the official notice:

NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the Conshohocken Zoning Hearing Board will conduct a public hearing on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. prevailing time at Conshohocken Borough Hall, 400 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA. At this time, the Conshohocken Zoning Hearing Board will hear testimony and accept evidence on the following petition:

The Petitioner is requesting a Special Exception and variances from the terms of the Conshohocken Zoning Ordinance as Amended Sections 27-703 B – change of non-conforming use; 27-812 A – requiring a State license to secure zoning; 27-812 E – to locate a center based child day care center in the BR-1 district and from conditional use requirements for a center based day care center; 27-1006 to continue existing dimensions conditions of the property; 27-2002 – off street parking requirements; 27-2010 – off street loading and unloading space; and 27-2106 – signage requirements.

The Petitioner proposes to change the non-conforming use of the property from a consignment store to a center based child day care center
