Anthony and Emelie Cambeiro will celebrate the one-year anniversary of Cookie Cutters Plymouth Meeting on November 14th, 2025. What started with a three-year-old’s first haircut and a 50-minute drive to West Chester has transformed into a thriving business that has served over 6,000 customers in its first year.

“We opened because we couldn’t find this experience close to home,” Anthony said. “Now, a year later, families are coming to us from all over the region. We’ve had customers from as far as Allentown and South Jersey. We even had a family from Italy in for a haircut! That tells us we’re doing something right.”

The numbers back him up. Cookie Cutters Plymouth Meeting now boasts over 150 Google reviews with a 4.8-star average rating. What started as 20 customers on our opening day in November has grown steadily each month, with the salon now serving hundreds of families weekly.  During Back-To-School in August, the salon did over 850 haircuts!

What 4.9 Stars Really Means

Behind those impressive ratings is a philosophy that sets Cookie Cutters apart: meeting children exactly where they are, without judgment.

Jodi, who was the first stylist we hired says, “We’ve had kids who hide under the chair. We’ve had kids who need to hold their parent’s hand the entire time. We’ve had kids who want to watch three different shows before they’re ready.”  “All the stylists who come here are patient and calm and meet the kids where they are, even if that means sitting on the floor and cutting their hair there!”

That approach extends to sensory sensitivities, first-time jitters, and even children who’ve had negative haircut experiences elsewhere. The salon’s bright, colorful environment features individual styling stations with TVs, toy cars for younger children to sit in, and a selection of shows and games to keep kids engaged.

The Hands-On Approach

Though neither Anthony nor Emelie cut hair themselves, they’re deeply involved in daily operations. Anthony visits the salon at least weekly and monitors all customer feedback personally.

“Emelie or I respond to every review, positive or negative. If there is ever a concern, we reach out directly to make it right,” he said. “We’re not a corporate chain where complaints disappear into a black hole. Emelie and I own this, and we stand behind every experience.”

That commitment to customer service shows in the details: flexible scheduling for families with special needs, accommodating walk-ins whenever possible, and a team of five stylists and three receptionists who genuinely love working with children.

“Our staff is our secret weapon,” Anthony said. “They’re not just good at cutting hair—they’re good with kids. They’re patient, they’re kind, and they understand that a haircut isn’t just about hair. For some kids, this is a huge milestone. For others, it’s a monthly challenge. Our team treats every child with respect and meets them wherever they are.”

Looking Ahead

As Cookie Cutters Plymouth Meeting enters its second year, the team is focused on continuing to grow while maintaining the customer experience that built their reputation.

“We have a few fun ideas in the works for our one-year anniversary.  We hope to unveil another fun fantasy chair and offer a few special discounts,” said Emelie. 

“Every month we see our current families coming in for another haircut, and every month we get to meet new families.  We are committed to adding more opportunities for stylists to join the team and deliver great styles and smiles,” Anthony said. “Our core mission will always stay the same: create an environment where kids feel comfortable and parents feel supported. If we keep doing that, everything else takes care of itself.”
