Viggiano’s in Conshohocken has closed after almost 20 year run. The restaurant has been listed for sale

Viggiano’s in Conshohocken announced on social media on July 13th that it has “served its last chicken parm.” The Italian BYOB opened in 2000 and closed for an almost four year period between 2009 and 2013. It then reopened at the same spot at 16 East 1st Avenue and served up its popular chicken parm through the recent announcement.

The restaurant was very much a family affair, led by Mark and Lisa, and later daughter Rachel, along with numerous other relatives filling a variety of positions. The restaurant was also a popular location for family celebrations, as the restaurant consisted of a series of rooms of varying sizes that could accommodate a variety of events.

In 2019, Viggiano’s opened a second restaurant in Cape May, near where Mark and Lisa now live. The Cape May location is open and is not impacted by the closure in Conshohocken.

MoreThanTheCurve.com spoke with Mark Viggiano and he shared that the closing came due to the success of the Cape May location, which has made it more difficult to help in Conshohocken, and the fact that many members of the family have new responsibilities and careers.

The restaurant business, not the real estate, is listed for sale with John Chism of Long & Foster. Note that the price has been reduced from just under $200,000 to $150,000 (but the listing may not have updated yet). Chism can be reached at (215) 206-1474.
