Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids in the Plymouth Meeting Mall is where “Fun for Kids” meets “Stress Free for Parents” – and business owners Anthony and Emelie Cambeiro are humbled by how the community has embraced the salon!

Since opening in November 2024, the salon has earned 114 Google reviews with a 4.9 average rating, serving roughly 600 customers in June alone. The franchise caters to children ages 0-12 (though they welcome teenagers as well) and currently employs five stylists and three receptionists.

Cookie Cutters specializes in services that matter most to families: gentle baby’s first haircuts with keepsake certificates, expert kids braiding, and regular maintenance haircuts. With Back to School coming soon, Cookie Cutters is ready to provide haircuts that help kids start the year looking and feeling great.

What sets Cookie Cutters apart is their understanding that a successful kids’ haircut requires the right environment and approach. The salon features TVs, balloons, bubbles, fun-themed chairs, a slide, coloring books, toys, books, and even an interactive floor video game to keep children engaged, excited, and distracted.

“Our stylists love being around children. They’re calm, patient, and they meet each child wherever they are. There’s no judgment here,” Anthony explained. “We want families to come see how much fun a haircut can be. It’s a bright, fun, positive atmosphere where every kid belongs.”

Though they don’t cut hair themselves, Anthony and Emelie are highly involved in the day-to-day operations. “We really focus on the customer experience for both the child and the parent,” Emelie said. “And that starts with hiring the most skilled, kind, and patient stylists we can find and maintaining a positive fun atmosphere for everyone. If we can delight our little customers and their parents, everything works itself out.”

The couple’s path to franchise ownership began with a personal need. “Emelie found a kids salon for our little one’s first haircut. It was a great experience, but it was a 50-minute drive for us,” Anthony said. “During the trip home, we talked about getting something closer to us. I had just left a position in finance, so I called up the Plymouth Meeting Mall to see what could happen.”

After finding the perfect space on the mall’s first floor, the Cambeiros knew they had found their match. “The mall is a family-oriented environment, which is exactly what we were looking for,” Anthony said.
