Montgomery County sent out a notice today that it has “directed its contractor to remove and replace recently completed roadwork” that is part of the Ridge Pike Improvement Project. The portion of Ridge Pike impacted is between Northwestern Avenue and Crescent Avenue in Lafayette Hill. The recently repaved Manor Road, Barren Hill Road, Harts Lane, and Church Road are not impacted.
According to the notice, the county discovered that the asphalt used by the contractor did not meet the specifications required for durability and performance, and if not replaced, the “asphalt would deteriorate prematurely over time under the high traffic volume along Ridge Pike.” The contractor is responsible for the cost associated with milling and repaving.
The work is scheduled to be conducted in the evening hours between August 18th and August 29th.
