After reports of explosions, first responders extinguish tanks on fire at industrial site off Conshohocken Road in Plymouth Meeting

Firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to initial reports of a building fire and explosions at Spray Products located on the 1300 block of Conshohocken Road in Plymouth Meeting (Plymouth Township) on January 22nd at 7:20 a.m.

Once on the scene, it was discovered that the fire was originating from tanks on the backside of the building and that the building was not on fire. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the tanks and extinguish it.

Representatives of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety Hazardous Materials Team and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection were also on the scene to conduct air monitoring and take samples from water run off.

One employee was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. No emergency personnel were injured.

First responders on the scene represented Plymouth Fire Company No. 1, Harmonville Fire Company No.1, Norristown Fire Department’s Engine 27, Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2, Plymouth Community Ambulance Association, Gladwyne Volunteer Fire Company, Barren Hill Fire Company, and the Plymouth Township Police Department.
