Saint Matthew Parish in Conshohocken is celebrating its 175th anniversary in 2026. To celebrate, Archbishop Nelson Perez was at Mass this past weekend. Following his visit, Archbishop Perez wrote on X, “We pray that this time of reflection and gratitude for their past and present will be a time of grace and excitement as they as they pray about the gift they want to give to the next generation of St. Matthew. St. Matthew, pray for us!”
The parish was founded in 1851 on Hector Street. A new church was eventually built for the parish, which opened at its current location on Fayette Street in 1919.
