Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery Property Sold

The Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery property at 646 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill, more historically known as the General Lafayette Inn, was sold as of April 6th. Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery has been closed since May of 2016. The property had been listed for $1.8 million and county records show the purchase price was $1,083,300. The buyer is listed as 646 Germantown Pike LP, which has an address of a residential property owned by Brian Halligan. Halligan is the owner of Halligan’s Pub in Flourtown. The liquor license is currently in a transfer process to a LLC that lists Brian and Joseph Halligan and a manager as its officers.

We emailed with Brian Halligan’s back in October when we heard that he was in the process of buying the historic property. He asked that we delay doing a story until it was official, but as of late, has not returned our inquiries. One thing he did tell us in October was that this was a wholly new venture and would not be a Halligan’s Pub or subsidiary of it. So we can expect something totally new.

More to come.
