Borough of Conshohocken has purchased a new fire truck

Over the past few weeks, we have heard rumors that the Borough of Conshohocken was purchasing or had purchased a new fire truck.

On Monday, November 11th, MoreThanTheCurve.com submitted two right-to-know requests seeking emails between the Borough of Conshohocken and the likely manufacturer and dealer. We offered to withdrawal the right-to-know if the Borough would confirm the purchase. We just received back a response that they received the right-to-know.

We also researched minutes and agendas and couldn’t find any mention of it. However, we did find two mentions of it on video during a recent meeting to discuss the 2020 budget.

Yesterday, we learned that the Borough sent a letter on November 13th to the leadership of Washington Fire Company No. 1 notifying them that a truck had been purchased on October 25th. The letter states:

Please allow this letter to serve as notification that the Borough of Conshohocken ordered a 107-foot single axle Quint Pierce Ascendant on October 25, 2019. The new Quint was ordered through Glick Fire Apparatus as a fully equipped stock truck in the amount of $1,100,000.00. Please note that this purchase is a capital budget expense for the the FY2020.

Please note, that according to all the people we have spoken to off the record, the truck will be housed at Conshohocken Fire Company No. 2. It is not going to Washies.

More to come.
