The Borough of Conshohocken announced today that in January 2019 the Borough will be distributing 64 gallon Toter brand trash and recycle carts. The carts will be tied to each parcel number. Each parcel including apartment complexes with Borough trash service will receive one trash cart and one recycle cart at no charge.
The new carts are required to be put in service by Monday, March 4th, 2019. Those receiving the carts are responsible to manage and care for the municipal issued carts. If you move, do not take it. It stays with the property.
There is a caveat. The parcels that are currently utilizing roll cart trashcans can continue to use the existing carts. According to the Borough, acceptable carts must include:
- 2 wheels
- a metal lift bar
- an attached lid.
If you would like to opt out of receiving a new trash and/or recycle cart because you are already utilizing one that meets those requirements, you are asked to contact Public Services at (610) 828-1092.
More details will follow closer to the rollout date. Once the carts are delivered, additional carts will be made available for purchase for $54.00.
